Makati City is the National Capital Region’s and the Philippines’ business center since it is the home of the headquarters of the many of the country’s largest businesses. It is for this reason that the number of Makati transportation options has also increased to meet the needs of the public.
When traveling between nearby cities in the Metro Manila and in the Philippines, the jeepney (or jeep) is the fastest mode of transportation. Jeepneys come in different colors and in sizes ranging from 3-4 meters in length, 1.5-2.5 meters in width and approximately 2 meters in height. When the jeepneys were introduced after the World War II, they were made from the leftover US military jeeps. At present, several local manufacturing companies build the jeepneys mostly according to the preference of their client.
In Makati, in addition to the ordinary (open-air) jeepneys, there are also specialized jeeps that have an air-conditioning system and decorative designs. Most of these special jeeps just take passengers to different stops within the city of Makati. Finding a jeep in the Philippines on ordinary days is not difficult since jeeps ply their route almost anytime of the day. While riding a jeep, if you would like to ask the driver to drop you off, just say “para po” (please halt). However, if you are in the Makati Central Business District, jeepneys can only halt at the designated jeepney stops.
For long-range travel within the National Capital Region, buses are the most appropriate mode of transportation. In Makati, buses may be found on Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), on Ayala Avenue, on Buendia Avenue and on Makati Avenue. Buses in Makati can take to the northern cities (going to Novaliches and Quezon City), southern cities (going to Baclaran and Alabang) and western cities (going to downtown Manila).
Because buses can sometimes get caught in the heavy rush hour traffic, the Light Rail Transit and Manila Metro Rail Transit are convenient alternatives to the buses on EDSA and on Taft Avenue. The LRT on Taft Avenue runs from Monumento (in the north) to Baclaran (in the south). Its closest station to Makati is found on Buendia, which is a major road going to the Makati Central Business District.
On the other hand, the MRT found on EDSA travels from North Station (in Quezon City) to Taft Avenue, where there is a footbridge link to the LRT.
A portion of Makati is bordered by the Pasig River, which runs through several cities in the Metro Manila. The Pasig River Ferry is an air-conditioned boat with a capacity of up to 150 passengers. Makati has two Pasig River Ferry stations namely the Valenzuela station and the Guadalupe station.
In addition to the mentioned modes of public transport, Makati also has tricycles (motorcycle with a side car) that can take their passengers into the villages and right in front of their homes. Taxis are also found on most of the roads in Makati.

When the Department of Interior and Local Government or DILG initiated a clean and green drive amongst the cities all over the Philippines, the city of Ormoc had been the steady victor or winner of the Cleanest and Greenest City program since 1995. After achieving such feat, Ormoc City did not stop as such; rather they made their way to gain the most business-friendly city in the Visayas Region honor in 2005 by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and industry. Ormoc City would never accomplished recognition without the places natural beauty combined with historical and cultural heritage.
Since the tragic event that took place way back 1991, the city of Ormok bounced back drastically and became a very competitive city in terms of tourism and economic stability. The following are some of the must-see places in Ormoc City. The Agua Dulce Artesian Well had been built during the Spanish regime and the Ormocanons are still benefiting from its sweet tasting water until today. In commemoration of the victims of the 1991 flash flood, the locals had built a Mass Grave where the remains of the casualties had been buried and yearly (during November) they offer a Sacrifice of the Holy Eucharist and flowers for their dearly beloved. Ormocanons value for international pact and friendship can be seen at the Philippines-Japan Peace Memorial. It served as an obvious memento of the post-Second World War between Japanese and Filipinos. The Puente de la Reina is the oldest known bridge in the city dating back the mid-1800. During the Spanish regime, it served as docking spot for traders. The Veterans Centennial Park is another prominent Ormoc City landmark in honor of the Filipino war veterans for the liberation of Leyte. This park is very suitable for picnic and family bonding. Its captivating view of the city leaves visitors captivated.
The growth of the city of Ormoc in terms of tourism and economic permanence depends on strong networking. To keep up with the pace of international competitiveness, the local government of Ormoc City is using the World Wide Web or the internet for potential tourists and business financiers. To give these visitors and investors a glimpse of what to expect in the city of Ormoc by just a few clicks, the local government created an official website (http://www.ormoc.gov.ph/). This website will allow easy access to the beauty and wonders of the city of Ormoc.

Tagbilaran is the capital of Bohol and it is a place that has deeply embedded in its history centuries of friendship and peace. Dubbed one of the friendliest places in the Philippines, Tagbilaran destinations are not only places of learning but are also locations where lasting friendships are made.
One might think that a blood compact and a whole site dedicated to it is something very morbid but contrary to one’s first thoughts, this Tagbilaran destination is part of the place’s rich history. The Blood Compact Site is where the chieftain Datu Sikatuna forged a blood compact with the then King of Spain as a signal of friendly relations between the two nations. The marker that points to the Blood Compact Site is said to be the place where the very first Friendship Treaty was entered into without the need of a common language and it was done in 1565. The Blood Compact Site is where friendship between the brown and white skinned first fostered. This historic event is indeed historical because it was one of the contributing factors that caused the Filipinos to welcome the Spaniards with open arms and it was the start of the latter’s peaceful reign. It is just as important in Philippine history as the President Carlos P. Garcia Memorial Park.
Since we’re into history, another good place to visit aside from the Blood Compact Site is the President Carlos P. Garcia Memorial Park. This Tagbilaran destination is located right in Tagbilaran City and it is meant to honor the late President Carlos P. Garcia, a figure admired by many Filipinos up to this very day. President Carlos P. Garcia Memorial Park was built through joint efforts of Boholanos all over the country and even abroad and the bronze statue is the main attraction here. This statue that stands in the middle of the 11 hectare property of this Tagbilaran destination is life-size and made by the national artist Abueva. The President Carlos P. Garcia Memorial Park is just as important and historic as the Blood Compact Site because Former President Garcia was the 4th President of the Philippines, 1st of the 1971 Constitutional Convention and did many good things to alleviate the plight of Filipinos living in poverty.
Moving away from historical sites such as the President Carlos P. Garcia Memorial Park, among the many Tagbilaran destinations are the beaches in the area. There are several beaches that make excellent Tagbilaran destinations such as the Anda Beach, Bay Watch and Darak Beach. These beaches provide the perfect place for unwinding and relaxation.

Although Mateo Hot and Cold Springs Resort is in essence a hotel, day trippers are welcome to enjoy the hot and cold springs.
