Default Marriage short cuts?

Hello,

maybe you figured it out already and you are happily marreid - then Congrats from me.

If not:
Short cuts on marriages can be expensive - we got married last year July in Cebu. It took as longer than we anticipated - I extended from 2 to almost 4 weeks.

Problem was that just a week earlier the Supreme Court of Manila sent his staff to Cebu for cleaning up the "fast lane" on marriages. We were told that the marraiges of the previous 3 months were supposed to be cancelled because of "short cuts". Don't know it it happend - but we certainly took a longer time to get it all straightend out - and get all the stamps needed.

Good luck - best is to have enough time scheduled and enjoy the additional time in Philippines. The other way is usually a friend knows a friend who knows a friend in the City Hall..... you marry early and get your official papers 10 days later....

Regards,

GeorgeT

When you are planning in getting married it will take a long time before you legally marriage so why not tell your foreign boyfriend that he must stay more than 2 weeks maybe a month so you can get ready planned well...
