Default question abot getting a visa for a filipina to enter the U>S>?

i wish to have a lady from the phils come to the U.S. and i plan to marry her. what is the best way to go about applying for her visa? if she applies for a tourist visa and we get married while she is here, will she be legally allowed to stay in the U.S.? all helpful answers are appreciated. ------

Coming to the US on a tourist visa and getting married is allowed but trying to stay is considered Visa Fraud. This will get her deported and banned from the US (usually for 10 years). A tourist visa is NOT an immigration visa. The USCIS can help you do it legally. Go to their website:Immigration through a Family Member ------

No. tourist visa will not allow her stay -- at all -- beyond her approved tourist visit.Have you met personally, how did you meet, how long were you two together and where? Do you have sufficient income to support her and can you guarantee her bond? The family of the bride is the usual location of a wedding, so why do you want to bring her here for the wedding? These are just a few of the questions you might have to answer to get her a fiancee visa. If she is approved, you two will have to marry within 90 days or her arrival, or she must return to her own country. You must take the license and marriage certificate to USCIS upon marriage and then apply for a new spousal visa. With all the visas, paying her transportation, marriage license and what-not you will have pay, plan on having at least $5000 plus attorney's fees for the spousal visa, etc., plus the actual costs of your wedding&reception, plus sufficient income&assets to provide for all of her support during the 90-day fiancee visa period as well as the marriage. You will have to prove your ability to support her! She cannot work on a financee visa and it will take a great deal of time for her to get approved for the spousal visa and then the authorization to work. ------

Your best and most legal option is to petition for a K-1 fiance visa for her. You can find out how to do so on this page:Page Request Not Found she tries to get a tourist visa and the consular officer discovers she plans to marry in the U.S., she will not be given a visa. She also needs to prove strong social and economic ties to a home outside the U.S. to get a tourist visa, which can be difficult for singles. Your best bet, even though it may take a bit longer, is the K-1 visa. ------

My research found that the best way to have your filipina in the US for good is through the fiancee'visa.I did this in 2006, and my wife was here 12 months later, and married to me one month after that. You'll need the face to face visit time, evidence that there is a relationship (letters, emails, evidence of support). If you can fill out the government forms correctly, you won't need a lawyer. You can email me for more info.edit: she's here, has a green card, SS#, California ID, and is working on a drivers license. One more year, and she'll be a permanent resident. ------

If you plan on marrying her, then a fiance visa is in order. She would have 90 days in the USA to get married. You will have to prove that you and she have had an on going relationship for the past two years and that you have visited each other several times. Emails, photos, telephone records, plane tickets, hotel bills, etc. ------

You file a K1 fiance visa and she will be here in about 9 months. Get a lawyer because the right paperwork is pain to do on your own and get right. Visit the USCIS Home Page web site and you will see how confusing the government makes it. ------
