Default What's the best type of currency to carry in the Philippines?

I'm about to be a first time traveller to the Philippines and I don't really want to be carrying a large amount of cash on me but I heard that it's hard to use traveller's checks there. Can anyone help me with this? ------

Once you are in the Philippines:have your currency exchanged into Philippine pesos. The safest place will be the local bank although the exchange rate is smaller compared to that of the money changer's rate.Request to have small bills such as P100.If you are going to take a taxicab upon arrival, have at least P500 in cash, better yet, go to the taxi booths inside the airport, they have flat rates and are safer.Happy travels! ------
