Default About underground river (Palawan)?

I am planning to go to Palawan, probably stay in El Nido. I've never been to the underground river and my sister said that I have to be in a tour or a group to get there? Is it that remote or are there lots of people when you get there? Thanks! ------

Puerto Princesa Underground RiverJeepneys bound for Bahile Wharf are stationed along the Puerto Princesa market. Bahile may also be reached by chartered vehicle. Although trips to the Underground River are irregular, pumpboats along the wharf may be hired for a day trip to the river. From here, a 2.1 kilometer trek towards the river entrance follows. Bahile is 77 kilometers away from Puerto Princesa City.During this time, there are plenty of tourists in Palawan. You can join them in group tours. You have to go the Tourist Assistance Center to register and get a permit to enter the heritage site. ------
