That happened in El Nido in another part of Palawan. and it's a very rare occurrence.Puerto Princesa City is consistently the cleanest and greenest city in the country. It is also almost crime-free - the lowest in the country. So, it's safe and you'll be near the most wonderful nature sites, including the Tubbataha Reef and Underground River Park. Both are nominated to the search for the world's 7 Wonders of Nature (New7Wonders: Welcome to the official global voting platform of New7Wonders). ------

That was an isolated incident. On and off during a 28 year period I have lived in the Philippines and never felt threatened. The Philippines is a very safe place to live and visit as long as you use some common sense rules, just like you would do anywhere else in the world. Many people live their to included wstern expats from various countries. they would not live their and these place would not be so popular if there was a real threat of danger. go and have a good time. ------
