Default What's special about Dos Palmas in Palawan?

I'm going on a short trip to Puerto Princesa in a few weeks and want to know if I should make a day tour to Dos Palmas part of my itinerary. Is it worth it? What can one do there? All tips are welcome! ------

Dos Palmas is a popular resort and I suppose there are nice beaches there. However, it became"infamous"because that's where a popular local actor, Rico Yan, died in his sleep. The press releases said it was because he had a nightmare while sleeping (the local term is"bangungot") but those industry people who were with him said that he OD'd. I guess they wanted to cover it up because his image to the public was very wholesome and boy next door. ------

I went there on a day trip and I must say it was the highlight of my Puerto Princessa trip. The snorkeling is MUCH better than Honda Bay. The beach is a bit rocky but snorkeling was fun, what's more is that it's part of the day trip package and you don't have to pay extra! You can even get diving lessons if you pay an additional fee. If you're really bored you can try feeding their fish. It would actually be better to stay there overnight if you have the cash rather than stay in the city, in my opinion. Go for it! ------
