Default What are the best beach resorts in Mindanao, Phillippines?

I'm visiting family in Gingoog City, 2.5 hours NE of Cagayan de Oro. What are the best beach resorts that are resonably close to spend a few days? ------

I would be interested in this too, I am planning a trip to Mindanao soon, my main target will be Davao, but I want to go out to other cities as well, Cagayan de Oro is on that list

I jsut hope it is safe to travel between the two cities as flying through Manila would be rather costly.

Well, from Cagayan de oro theres a DAKAK beach resort in Zamboanga del norte and its 5 to 6 hours travel. OR just go to siargao island in Surigao del norte for surfing and unwine with your family and relatives. ------

Camiguin Island, 1.5 hours by car from Cagayan de Oro, then another 45 minutes by ferry, has lots to offer, including cultural places to visit. Although the seaside is not always perfect for swimming, it has resorts that have swimming pools, and trips can be arranged for a day at the white sand beach. You see, it has a white sand island/sand bar that offers nothing but sand - right in the middle of the sea. You take a short boat ride to get there. It is also a volcanic island that has a hot spring resort (fresh water), and an underwater cemetery (a 19th century volcanic eruption buried a town and its cemetery) - something for scuba divers to explore. The whole island can be considered a"resort"with so many things to offer. Most travel agencies would have tour packages to Camiguin Island. ------

Camiguin is your closest best beach. It's an island off NE Mindanao so you have to get on a ferry to get there. But, I'm told it's worth it. The small pier with the ferries to Camiguin are on the way from CDO to where you're going, Gingoog City. ------

Don't go there without a machine gun and a large group of tough men with guns or you are sure to be kidnapped or shot and robbed in the street by drug running muslims. ------

You need not worry too much coz not all part of Mindanao has terrorists. Cagayan de Oro City for one is a peaceful city with friendly people to make your trip worthwhile. You can roam around the city -- beach, pool, hotels, restaurants, nature tripping, etc. Afterwards, you can visit nearby towns & cities as well--- Basamangas, Villa Arcadia, Duka Bay, Camiguin Islands , Gingoog City, Butuan City, Davao City & many more...
