For me it was about 24 hours elapsed time, from St. Louis to Manila. I left St. Louis at about 8 AM Saturday morning. I went via Detroit hub of Northwest to Japan and then to Manila. I arrived in Manila at 10:30 PM on Sunday. To get to Davao it will take another flight of a couple hours, Monday morning. I would recommend Cebu Pacific to Davao. I have stayed at the Swagman hotel in Manila for a little sleep before early morning flight to the next city. It is a clean decent hotel with a great restaurant. With the company paying for it you may want to stay at a fancier hotel. For information on the Philippines I would recommend buying a"Lonely Planet"travel guide book. The books have much more information than the web site. They have extreme detail on hotels, prices, recommendations, prices, and even phone numbers, and maps. The Philippines is much less dangerous than America. If you make a wrong turn in America and end up in the bad part of town, they will shoot you first and then take your money. In the Philippines if you are in the wrong part of town, the most that would happen is to loose your money. To be extra safe have an extra wallet with some money and expired cards in it. You can give the robbers that. Get a money belt to protect from pick pockets. They do have more pick pockets than in America. Ask your business contacts for places to avoid and you should be fine. The jet lag started to hit me Monday afternoon. Tuesday morning I was fine. Also travel is much slower in the Philippines than in America so allow for that. ------
